What to watch out for: As with all oil companies, service contracts do not include freezing pipes or water parts, have the delivery driver add an anti gel to your tank if it is outside. They do not cover your system if you let your tank run out of fuel. Put your home on automatic delivery. They do not cover “acts of God” such as floods, earth quakes, and fire. They do not cover air conditioning parts nor are they issued on unoccupied buildings. All oil purchased must be from Sclafani or Liberty Petroleum. We will not guarantee another companies oil. Should a landlord/tenant call arise payment or contract arrangement must be made in advance of the call.
What you should know: It is recommended that the customer familiarizes themselves with their individual system. The more you know the less likely you are to have a problem.A service man can show you how to oil the motor and circulator bearing assemblies, change the dust filters in a warm air furnace, drain the expansion tank venting or plumbing air from heating pipes, add water to steam boilers, replace your fuses, reset your circuit breakers and how to turn on and off the emergency switch or set the thermostats if you want to do this yourself. You should also be able to replace your own batteries in a clock thermostat and/or clean lint and dust from air bands. This is basic easy stuff that helps your system run efficiently and if you do it yourself it is not chargeable.
